Insurance Claim Check Information
August 28, 2020

If you are receiving an insurance claim check that is made payable to both you and Collins Community Credit Union, please bring the check and your claim information with you to a branch to discuss with a branch manager. The credit union is required to sign the check and assist with releasing funds for repairs to your home.

To alleviate any issues with the check processing, please do not deposit the check into an ATM or ITM and instead bring it into the credit union. If the check is not signed properly, the check will be returned by the insurance company. We want to assist you in getting your funds to repair your property as needed.

Derecho Storm Assistance Program
August 14, 2020

Collins Community Credit Union will offer unsecured loans of up to $3,500.00 at 2.99% APR for a maximum term of 36 months to members needing monetary assistance as a result of the storm. Distributions will be made based on invoices from contractors for work done to complete repairs.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants will need to provide a detailed letter explaining how they have been affected by the storm, as well as documented estimates of damage and clean up costs. Borrowers must be or become a Collins Community Credit Union Member to qualify.

To apply for this loan, please visit a Collins Community Credit Union branch or contact our team at 800-475-1150.

Additional Resources for Support

The Iowa Individual Disaster Assistance Grant Program (IIAGP)

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation that activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents in response to the storm's destruction.

IIAGP offers grants to families whose household annual income is at 200% or less of the federal poverty level. Each qualifying household may receive up to $5,000.00, which can be used for replacement of clothing or food, home or car repairs, and temorary housing expenses. Please note that original receipts are required to receive reimbursement for expenses related to storm recovery.

Click here for the grant application and instructions. The application deadline is September 25, 2020.
