Welcome to Collins Community Credit Union’s inaugural blog post. If you are reading this, I accomplished my first goal--one reader. Baby steps right?

You might be wondering, why does a credit union need a blog? Can they really write anything that will interest me? Trust me, I’ve been wondering the same thing myself. And, of course, I hope the answer is yes. Really our goal with this blog is to give our members a venue to hear first-hand about topics we think would be relevant to you; and maybe have some fun along the way.

Don’t worry. You won’t just be hearing from me every week. We have an entire credit union full of employees knocking down my door for their chance to contribute posts. Really! We have a lot to say, and great members that we love to help. So whether you’re just getting your first checkbook, establishing your family, or looking towards retirement, stay tuned. We’ll have something for you.

I also have to give a special shout out to Jane O., our member who inspired the blog’s name. She posted a comment on our facebook page a while back that said Triple CU Rocks! I’ve been on a campaign to change our name ever since. Not really, but it is pretty catchy, so thanks for the help Jane.  And of course, for being a vocal CCCU supporter.

And now for the fun stuff! As your reward for finding our blog and making it all the way to the end, I want to give away some freebies. Just leave a comment with a topic you would like to see in this blog in the future (keep it clean please!) and I will be in touch to make sure you get a free Collins Community Credit Union t-shirt.*  Be sure to stop back for more fun blog posts, contests and give-aways coming soon.

*You must be a Collins Community Credit Union member to receive a free t-shirt.  Limit of one shirt per member. Offer expires 6/6/2012.
