The home buying process can be overwhelming. You may be asking yourself, “Is now the right time to purchase a home? Do I have enough money down? Is my credit good enough?”

Whether purchasing your first home or your fifth, these are all questions that need to be asked when purchasing a home.

According to a recent study, 68% of Americans believe now is a great time to purchase a home.  The same survey also uncovered that many potential buyers have a skewed vision of how much is needed for a down payment, and what kind of credit is necessary to purchase a home.

While 74% stated they feel they have a good grasp on the mortgage process, 64% believed only people with “really good credit” qualify for a mortgage.  An astonishing 44% also believe lenders require a 20% down payment.  This was especially true of respondents between the ages of 18 to 34.

The study showed a clear picture; people want to purchase homes, but feel their options are severely limited.  At Collins Community CU we want to help you understand the home buying process and will work with you to find a loan option to fit your needs.  While there have been changes in financing options, we continue to offer competitive financing, up to and including options with little or no down payment.

At Collins Community CU, we are devoted to the financial success of all of our members, which means when you come in, you are not just a credit score or a debt ratio. We will work with you every step of the way to help you purchase the home of your dreams.
