Wow, can you believe we’re halfway through January, already? I sincerely hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. As we welcome 2016 it’s time to re-examine our finances and set new finances goals. Maybe you spent more than planned this holiday season, or you’re looking to save for a home, whatever you goals are, we can help you achieve them with Money Meter.

Money Meter is our personal financial management tool that allows you to set goals, track spending, and create a budget that fits your lifestyle.

And if getting on the path to financial success wasn’t motivating enough, now when you set a goal in Money Meter you’ll be entered to win cash!

Yep, that’s right, if you set a savings goal in Money Meter now through February 29 you’re automatically entered to win one of five cash prizes. Who wouldn’t like to have 500 big ones to put toward their savings goal?!

To enter, login to CU Online and click on the Money Meter tab. Then, click on “Goals” and “Add a Goal.” Select any “Save for” goal, or create a “Custom Savings Goal.” Make sure to complete the fields to name your goal, choose the account you’re saving in and the amount you wish to save along with your complete date. And you’re done!

One of my financial goals for 2016 is to save money for Christmas throughout the year to make Christmas shopping a little less painful. To help me complete my goal I opened a Christmas Club account at the Credit Union, then setup a savings goal tied to that account in Money Meter. The plan is to save $500 by November 1, 2016.
