It’s hard to believe that summer is winding down and the kiddos are heading back to school. We’ve had a blast spending time in our community and working with our new friends at Summer of the Arts this year.

The Summer of the Arts program was created in 2005 and is an organization that works to encourage and facilitate collaborative efforts to create a summer filled with arts and cultural entertainment in the Iowa City area.

This year, Collins Community Credit Union, along with UI Pentacrest Museums, was the presenting sponsor of the Free Movie Series. Each Saturday, from June to August, a free movie was shown on the lawn outside Macbride Hall. The movies had a number theme and the series kicked off with Captain America: The First Avenger and wraps up on Thursday with How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

Join us on the lawn in front of Macbride Hall on Thursday, August 21 for the last movie of the summer. We’ll be handing out sunglasses and beach towels (while supplies last) and, you can register to win our Hawkeye tailgating package!
