Happy 2013!  It’s that time again.  The time of year when people start thinking about New Year’s resolutions. I’ll admit, I’ve never been big on making resolutions. Instead of vague resolutions, I like to set goals.  And I don’t just do it once a year. Every once in a while I realize a change I need to make, so I set a goal to make that change.  It doesn’t have to be anything huge.  Usually my goals are smaller, and very measurable.  They can lead to a bigger goal, but don’t always have to. I give myself a deadline to complete the goal, or if there are multiple steps, a timeline.

This month I’ve decided it’s time to reassess some of my bills, so my goal is to find ways to save at least $100 per month. I figure between cable, insurance and phone bills, I should be able to do that pretty easily.  I just need to make the effort to do a little research and make a few phone calls. My deadline to reach this goal is January 31. Stop back in February to find out how I did.

So what are your goals in the coming year?  Feel free to share in the comments section below.
