My favorite holiday is fast approaching… Hint: It involves jack o’ lanterns, black cats and dressing in costume!!!
My point is it’s not too early to begin thinking of what to wear for Friday, October 25th. I’m part of the planning committee for our first annual Charity Masquerade to be held at the Czech & Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids. This is an adult costume party to benefit the March of Dimes.
When I think about what a fun night this will be for a really wonderful charity, the excited “kid” in me cuts loose and my creative juices start to flow! My mind is swirling with all kinds of costume ideas. I haven’t decided on any one thing yet, but I’ll tell you this… there’s no doubt the Collins Community Credit Union Charity Masquerade will be one of the most entertaining events of the season – especially if all the participants do their part to compete for Best Costume!
Now don’t try to bribe her, but KCRG-TV9’s Ashley Hinson is judging and the First, Second & Third place prizes are $100, $75 and $50. You could actually win more money than it costs to attend! Event admission tickets are just $35 each and they’re on sale now at any Collins Community Credit Union location.
If the costume contest isn’t compelling enough for you, then come for the Raffle Prizes, the Wine Ring Toss Game and to hear The Magnetos play – they’re awesome!
Or… just come because it’s for a great cause - the March of Dimes - working to ensure every baby has a healthy start in life. Here's wishing you all a very Happy Halloween!
